UPDATE on DIY Project

OK...this has been a slow process - working on project for about 2 hours every night (give or take a few nights). Finally got all 6 chairs sanded and have started painting my first one. I want to completely paint one chair to see how it will come out. More to follow...

Now have 2 coats of paint on the chair...still needs to be glazed and stained.

DIY Project

I love watching DIY Network and HGTV! Love getting new ideas and seeing what projects people 'try' to attack (if you watch Renovation Realities you know what I mean). One night I got the BRILLIANT idea to refinish our hand-me-down breakfast table. Saw a picture in a magazine for the inspiration of colors and it seems to be an easy project according to Design Star...so why not?

PROJECT: refinish (paint and stain) 6 chairs and table with leaf

BUDGET: $100 - $150

TIME: before the holidays 2009 (should be plenty of time!)

I work on this after the kids go to bed for about 2 hours. I do not work on it everynight, but I try. It seems to be taking about 4 hours/chair. I have 2.5 chairs sanded. Maybe HOLIDAYS 2010 is a more reasonable time frame...
