Ethan's ACTUAL first swim class

All four of us (Mom, Dad, Ethan and Kate) arrived at the pool, hoping Ethan would have class this time. Ethan and Mom were pretty excited! The instructor showed up and class got under way. Ethan over all did pretty well for his first Big Boy swim class. It will be a good confidence builder. Can't wait till next Saturday!

Suiting up for swimming.

All but one ready to go!
'Ice cream scoops' is what we use to swim!

Kate's Nine Month Well Visit

My little baby is growing so fast. She is already 9 months old!! We had our 9 month well visit this week. She is a rather serious little girl. During her Dr appt she simply sat still and very seriously, watched the doctor check her out. She did not try to move, cry, talk or laugh; just watched his every move. We then had to go to the lab to have some blood drawn to check for lead levels. I thought - OK, she is NOT going to like this at all. I put in her pacifier and started SHHShing in her ear - for distraction. The nurse pricked her finger - no crying - and began to squeeze her finger to put blood into the vial - still no crying. Only once did she squinch her face, turn red and eyes watered, but still no crying. She did look over at the nurse once and let out a sigh - as if to say - You are really taking time out of my play time!

She makes me laugh - I love it!

Kate's First Haircut

Since Kate was born she has had quite a bit of hair. With that she has also be rockin' the mullet! Finally decided to clean up her hair a bit. She was not real excited about the ordeal so I did not get as many pictures as I would have liked. Oh well, I am not perfect:0)

Kate's hair before...

Kate's hair after!

She does not look pleased with the haircut. I am sure it won't be her last bad hair experience!

Kate's First Ride in a Shopping Basket

Last Sunday, we did our Sharp ritual...Go to SAMS and HEB. Mom had to make a stop at TARGET. LOVE LOVE LOVE Target...come on - who doesn't! We decided Kate was ready for the transition from stroller to riding in the shopping cart. Of course we had to remember to bring the seat cover. Don't dare set my sweet baby in the nasty seat with out it. Ethan was so excited that baby sister was going to ride like him. So, of course, I had to take a picture of another great first. I then realized that Ethan's first was cart ride was at TARGET also!

You'll notice...neither look as excited about as Mommy is!!!!

Ethan's First Big Boy Swim Class

In June Ethan and I did a Mommy and me swim class at the YMCA in Dripping Springs. The instructor felt like he was ready for the next level...thank goodness as we were the oldest in the Mommy and Me class. The instructor mentioned it might help Ethan progress if we got him a pair of goggles. I think the ONLY word Ethan heard was - GOGGLES!!! He talked about getting them for the rest of the day.

Last Saturday was the first day of his 'Big Boy' swim class. He was so excited to see what 'Big Boy' swim class had to offer and of course try out our new goggles. Unfortunatly, the swim instructor did not show...what a bummer. We will try again this Saturday. I will keep you up dated.

Showing off our cool goggles.

We are so excited about our swimming lesson!

Kate's New Milestone

Kate has been crawling for about 2 weeks now. Each day, getting faster and exploring more. She has also started pulling up on her knees. Well, we have now figured how to pull up to standing!!! Time to lower the matress - again. I will post some pics soon...as soon as I find my camera!

Ethan's SMALL request

Yesterday, as Ethan and I are walking out of HEB he looks up at me and says, "I want a baby brother to play with." "Hmmm- really," I state; "What about your sister Kate. You can play with baby Kate." Ethan's response, "No, she is a girl. I want to play with a boy named Brother."

Ethan was pretty cute with his LITTLE request, but unfortunatly I am going to have to break his heart on this one. Though, this morning on the way to school, he thought he would pick one of his friends to be his BROTHER for the day. That will have to do.

The things kids say:0) Gotta love them...
