Swimming during the Summer!!!

Went to Mom's this weekend to go swimming and hang out for the day. Ethan had a great time playing in the kiddie pool and then we also did some swimming practice in the 'Big' pool. He also started to practice diving...he did pretty good - even after mommy accidently over rotated him under water. When Ethan came up he said, "Mommy you almost let me sink to the bottom!" But he got right back up on the deck and tried diving again.

Mom's New Car

Mom was in a car accident earlier this month and had to get a new car. Unless you know my mom you may not guess what she bought...wait for it...A HONDA ACCORD!!!! She has had 2 Honda Accords and has loved them so she went for the 3rd. John and I were shocked at the color she chose - not because we don't like it - we do, but because we never thought she would chose it. Mom's thoughts on car color is, white is for rent cars and grey or silver make her feel like she is driving a casket. So we were shocked when she went for the dark grey color - VERY nice car!!

1/2 Marathon Training

OK...I along with some friends have decided to train for a 1/2 Marathon (13 miles) in October! Crazy...I know! I am now in my 4th week of training, but it is getting easier and I am feeling a lot healthier/better. Since I am just getting back into running I am following a program I found on the Runtex website.

The program has really helped to make the 'getting back into it' piece easier. I will say the 4AM wake up call does NOT make the running easier.

Kate will not be the victim!

We are finding out that our sweet, little girl has a bit of a temper and some drama. When things don't go her way she will throw herself onto the floor in the fetal position and scream and cry. The other day I picked her up from school and her face looked pretty bad. The accident report from the teachers' said, 'Kate got upset around snack time and ran for the back of the room and ran into the rocking chair causing her nose to bleed. That made her mad so she decided to throw herself onto the carpet and she gave herself rug burn on her nose.' The picture below is from the next morning and it is hard to tell, but her nose is bruised, swollen and red from the rug burn.

We are also learning to be 'nice' to our friends at school. She has already spent about half a day in time-out already due to hitting and pushing her little friends down. And if I understood her teachers correctly, some of her little friends are becoming a little frightened of her. It was also stated that at least on the up side Kate will not be the victim. It is hard to believe when you look at her sweet, little face, but don't let her looks be deceiving.

Summer Days

These are just a few pictures of the kids hanging out for the summer. So far we have not done much for summer...just some birthday parties and some swimming. Hopefully we will start up swim lessons soon.
