Kate will not be the victim!

We are finding out that our sweet, little girl has a bit of a temper and some drama. When things don't go her way she will throw herself onto the floor in the fetal position and scream and cry. The other day I picked her up from school and her face looked pretty bad. The accident report from the teachers' said, 'Kate got upset around snack time and ran for the back of the room and ran into the rocking chair causing her nose to bleed. That made her mad so she decided to throw herself onto the carpet and she gave herself rug burn on her nose.' The picture below is from the next morning and it is hard to tell, but her nose is bruised, swollen and red from the rug burn.

We are also learning to be 'nice' to our friends at school. She has already spent about half a day in time-out already due to hitting and pushing her little friends down. And if I understood her teachers correctly, some of her little friends are becoming a little frightened of her. It was also stated that at least on the up side Kate will not be the victim. It is hard to believe when you look at her sweet, little face, but don't let her looks be deceiving.

Kate's New Hair Style

Kate has always had a pretty good head of hair. It is growing out and now starting to hang in her face. I can't stand that - so we have found a new hair style. Pretty cute!

Kate's First Birtday!!!

On Saturday, November 14th we had Kate's First Birthday party! It was a great day...Kate looked so cute in her special birthday outfit, wonderful cupcakes and great friends and family. I can not believe how fast the time has gone...1 YEAR!!!

San Antonio Zoo trip

We decided to do a trip to the San Antonio Zoo on Sunday. It had to be the BEST day ever at the zoo - weather wise! AWESOME!!!! This was both Bo and Kate's first trip to the SA Zoo. Ethan had been before when he was 2, but didn't remember. That Sunday morning Ethan had asked if Kate went with us the last time and I told him 'no' because Kate was not born yet. He then turned to Kate and said, "...you can't go to the zoo with us today because you are not born yet!" Too funny!

Kate's Nine Month Well Visit

My little baby is growing so fast. She is already 9 months old!! We had our 9 month well visit this week. She is a rather serious little girl. During her Dr appt she simply sat still and very seriously, watched the doctor check her out. She did not try to move, cry, talk or laugh; just watched his every move. We then had to go to the lab to have some blood drawn to check for lead levels. I thought - OK, she is NOT going to like this at all. I put in her pacifier and started SHHShing in her ear - for distraction. The nurse pricked her finger - no crying - and began to squeeze her finger to put blood into the vial - still no crying. Only once did she squinch her face, turn red and eyes watered, but still no crying. She did look over at the nurse once and let out a sigh - as if to say - You are really taking time out of my play time!



She makes me laugh - I love it!

Kate's First Haircut

Since Kate was born she has had quite a bit of hair. With that she has also be rockin' the mullet! Finally decided to clean up her hair a bit. She was not real excited about the ordeal so I did not get as many pictures as I would have liked. Oh well, I am not perfect:0)

Learning to Eat Solids

Kate has been "eating" solids for about 1 month now. Some days - good...some - not so. Here is one of the not so!

Kate has been really going after her fists and test driving many fingers. We are hoping she will latch on to some fingers and quit using the pacifier. Found her sucking her thumb in her carseat the other day. YEAH!!!

Kate's First Laugh

On Sunday, March 8th Kate had her first little laugh! Too cute. If you can get her to talking and smiling...start tickling her...she just might give you a little laugh.
